Beat your bills by playing bingo
BUDERIM residents and bingo enthusiasts Milly Souvlis and Audrey Lawrence will be looking forward to collecting their bingo cards and checking their numbers every day as part of the Sunshine Coast Daily's Bill Busters Bingo.
The pair play bingo at the Maroochy RSL every Wednesday and Saturday and said they wouldn't miss it for the world.
"We love it," Milly said.
"We come for the friendship more than anything else but it's a bonus if we win," Audrey said.
"We love the mateship and the day out and being with people that appreciate what you're doing because you all love bingo."
Milly and Audrey had become such well-known regulars at the Maroochy RSL they even had a spot reserved for them at each game.
"We always sit in the same spot and bring our little lollies in," Milly said.
"We have our names on our table and we never move we always sit together in the same spot every week."
The mother-daughter duo said they considered those who also sat with them at every game their best friends.
"This is our second family," Milly said.
"The people that we got involved with at bingo, there's about 12 of them, they are like family and at Christmas time they come to our place and we have a pre-christmas dinner."
The pair said they would now be discussing their bingo cards collected out of the Sunshine Coast Daily with their bingo buddies as well as playing their regular bingo.
Milly was hoping she'd score a card with her lucky number on it and be as lucky as she has been at her usual game.
"I've won $2000 a couple of times thanks to my lucky number 5," she said.
Players in the Sunshine Coast Daily Bill Busters Bingo will have the opportunity to win over $4000 in cash, fuel, grocery and travel prizes. Those keen to get invovled can find a four-game bingo card inside the paper this Friday and Saturday. One prize will be won on the Coast each week. There will also be a second chance draw with a whopping $5000 cruise voucher on offer for one lucky winner across the Australian Regional Media footprint.
From Saturday, we'll list six numbers in the paper every day and you will cross them off in the corresponding week on your bingo card. Once you have all numbers crossed off - yell BINGO!
