Australia's Got Talent axed due to poor ratings

AUSTRALIA hasn't got talent any more.

That, at least, is the verdict of Seven, which has axed its one-time top-rating talent quest show yesterday, leaving hosts Dannii Minogue, Brian McFadden and Kyle Sandilands chairless for 2013.

Suspicions that such a move could be in the works were first raised by Fairfax Media two weeks ago after the network launched its 2013 season.

Although the network's press release for that event claimed "Australia's Got Talent will also be back uncovering the weirdest and most wonderful acts around the country", in a video reel highlighting the network's line-up for next year the show made but a fleeting, and unremarked, appearance, a sure indication that it had fallen well down the pecking order.

Seven was at the time known to be giving thought to replacing at least two judges in a bid to freshen the show.
