Australian stars sizzle on red carpet

IT WASN'T just on the stage that our Aussie stars shone at this year's ARIA Awards - it was a sizzling red carpet.

I didn't realize how much I missed The Veronicas until I saw them on the red carpet at this year's ARIA Awards.

The twins, Brisbane songbirds who sizzled in gorgeous gold and silver gowns, also celebrated their 10th anniversary in the music industry.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue showed us how she's every bit the style queen in a gorgeous jewel-encrusted gown.

But it wasn't all hits - Jessica Mauboy's bell-sleeved suit ensemble was an "interesting" choice.

I think she should ignore the stylist who put her in that monstrosity.

Insta-famous model Mimi Elashiry's outfit for the night was a little bizarre too.

Australian band Sheppard's girls stepped out in what you would call the night's most unique outfits - gorgeous black and white mini dresses with funky boots.

The knee-high boots came complete with roaring dragon's heads.

British buddies James Blunt and

Ed Sheeran served up the night's most adorable moment when they complimented each other every moment they had.

They also looked fantastic - Sheeran's black and white shirt definitely stood out from the crowd.

Singer and songwriter Samantha Jade jumped on the gold bandwagon and looked stunning in a strapless gown with a sheer skirt.

Isabella Manfredi of The Preatures proved that you didn't have to wear a dress to rock the red carpet - her flare pants, white shirt and suspenders combo was certainly the outfit of a rock star.
