Australia struggle in Barbados

AUSTRALIAN captain Michael Clarke launched the rescue mission but it will be up to Michael Hussey and the tail to complete it in the first Test against the West Indies in Barbados.

Clarke top-scored with 73 as Australia struggled to 5-248 on day three, still 201 runs behind the hosts' first inning total of 449.

Veteran Hussey (47) and debutant Matthew Wade (19) are the unbeaten batsmen after Clarke was dismissed by leg spinner Devendra Bishoo in the final session before bad light stopped play.

David Warner (42), Shane Watson (39), Ricky Ponting (4) and Ed Cowan (14) were the other batsmen dismissed.
