A KNOCK of 251* by Michael Clarke and 134 from Ricky Ponting have Australia in a commanding position at stumps on day two of the second Test against India.
Clarke went to his ton in style, hitting a four off Ishant Sharma. That knock included 14 fours, came off 136 balls and was his 18 test century.
His 19th came off 149 deliveries, featured 10 fours and one six.
Ponting had to wait until after lunch to reach his milestone. It was the veteran's 40th test hundred and brought to an end a two-year wait.
He was eventually out on 134, caught Sachin Tendulkar, bowled Sharma. Ponting's knock came off 225 balls and included 14 fours.
Mike Hussey has also come to the party, reaching his half-century off 86 deliveries.
At stumps Australia are 4/482.
India made 191 in their first innings.
