Aussie Hoops among great programs for kids

AUSSIE Hoops is an entry level basketball program designed specifically for 5-10 year olds.

Ipswich Basketball is tipping off their term 4 program on October 20.

The program is running for seven weeks.

Aussie Hoops is held at the Ipswich Basketball Stadium on Saturday mornings from 10am to 11am.

Registration is $90 for new participants and $65 for returning. Bookings can be made online.

Active Breaks activities

KEEP your kids entertained these school holidays and book them in for a free one-hour activity from Active Breaks.

There's soccer, athletics, yoga, tee-ball and lots more at a range of parks across Ipswich.

The activities are for kids aged five and over.

Excellence bursaries available

IPSWICH City Council offers a Sport Excellence Bursary program to support local athletes.

The bursaries are available to developing athletes in Ipswich who are representing Queensland or Australia at a sporting event.

Athletes are eligible for $200 if representing Queensland and $300 if representing Australia.

Summer soccer

WESTERN Spirit Football Club will be running a Six-A-Side Football competition for juniors through to seniors.

The competition will run from October 15-December 7 with juniors playing on a Monday night and seniors on a Friday night.

Costs for under 6 to under 9 is $90, under 10 to under 16 is $100 and seniors are $120.
