Arts and youth the focus of funding

CREATIVE arts groups are the major beneficiaries from Bellingen Shire Council's second round of allocations to not for profit organisations.

Camp Creative, the Readers and Writers Festival, EJ Mantova Memorial Art Prize and Screenwave Rec Ya Shorts Film Festival are among a dozen activities to receive seed capital.

"It is always a pleasure to be able to assist our local community groups,” Bellingen Mayor Dominic King said.

"This funding will achieve a number of positive outcomes for our community with young people and creative arts especially benefiting.”

The funding is made available through the Community Support Fund, Community Event Sponsorship Fund and the Creative Placemaking Fund.

Incorporated not for profit organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to support local events as well as small infrastructure projects and scholarships.
