Artists travel through dance

REHEARSALS were well under way yesterday at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre as the Young Dancers Company of Central Queensland prepared for their coming production of Dance Round the World.

Dance Round the World takes audience members on a thrilling choreographic journey around the many nations of the world.

The performance will premiere choreographer Peter AB Wilson's contemporary work Scribe, and will also feature several prominent guest artists.

These include former artistic director of the Queensland Ballet Harry Hawthorne as well as Harrison Hall, one of Melbourne's most exciting up-and-coming dancers.

YDCCQ was established to provide and promote professional dance opportunities for young dancers living in the Central Queensland region.

Dance Round the World takes the stage this Friday, April 27, at 7.30pm and features young dancers from Emerald, Rockhampton and Gladstone.

For tickets, please contact the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on 4972 2822.
