Arrests after alleged petrol theft

POLICE arrested two men after chasing them from the scene of an alleged petrol drive-off at Booval.

The occupants of the Holden Commodore were seen filling up at the Caltex service station on Brisbane Road, about 11.30am today.

Officers then followed the vehicle - after the driver allegedly failed to pay for the fuel - on to nearby Clifton Street, where it crashed into a wire fence.

The men were transported to the Ipswich watch house and their vehicle towed away for inspection.

No charges have been laid.
