New court appeal for Australian Bali Nine pair

LAWYERS for two Australians on death row in Indonesia hope a constitutional court challenge to their sentences will save them from the firing squad.

Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran's latest clemency bid was rejected on Monday night.

But lawyer Michael O'Connell told ABC a new court appeal would be launched to fully consider their rehabilitation.

He claimed the Indonesian courts had not properly considered their rehabilitation in previous appeals, despite the Indonesian government rejecting their clemency pleas.
