Sell-out show sure to make Anh Do happy
FROM an overcrowded boat on the Mekong River to the GECC, Anh Do continues his journey as the happiest refugee in Gladstone this month.
His sold-out show tonight is one of Gladstone's most hotly anticipated event, selling more than 600 tickets.
Pam Syposz was one of the lucky Gladstone locals who snagged a seat, saying Do's inspirational story compelled her to buy a ticket as soon as they came on sale.
"The whole idea of arriving on a boat and how dangerous it would have been for a small child stuck with me," she said.
"I have read his autobiography and that's why we (my husband and I) are going."
Mrs Syposz said she believed the show would be a combination of laughter and tears, a notion backed by famous audience members such as Russell Crowe.
