Andrew loves his Gradco T908

"WELL this is one very satisfying job where you get a heap of variety, and see some pretty awesome scenery. Some of it coated white lately.”

Andrew McIntee stopped at Mood Food, the Caltex 24 hour road house and truckstop near Kempton on the Midland Highway.

He was driving an eye catching Gradco 2008 T-908 with a 625+ Cat up front, and towing an oversize Komatso excavator from New Norfolk return to Launceston and then knock off for the day.

"I've been here for six months now,” he said.

"So far I'd have to say this is a top job. They look after their people and their gear, and there's a good atmosphere at work. Today's load has been a change from carrying wind farm components up to Cattle Hill near Waddamana, the Hydro-Electric power station (the first operated by the Hydro-Electric Department) and that is one big job. Lots of snow up there lately, but that's a good change from the bushfires last summer, and the truck has a good heater!”

Andrew told us he has been driving now for 25 years or so, and he has no complaints or regrets about taking it up for a career.
