HE has been one of the crowd favourites at the Crater over the past two Queensland Basketball League seasons, so Mackay Meteors fans will be pleased to hear Matthew Adekponya has officially signed for a third consecutive crusade.

The 24-year old will re-join teammates in Mackay after a stellar European season with first division club the Nidaros Jets, who competed in the Norwegian National Basketball League.

Across seventeen contests for the Jets, Adekponya averaged impressive per game statistics including 30.2 points (1st in the league), 9.7 rebounds (9th in the league) and 4.8 assists (3rd in the league).  

He received post season recognition, being named to the BLNO All-League First team and took out the club's Most Valuable Player award.
