Adani chief to speak at Mackay mining forum

ADANI'S chief executive Jeyakumar Janakaraj will address Mackay businesses at a forum exploring mining sector opportunities between India and Australia.

The third National Energy and Resource Services Forum will be held at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on May 11 and 12.

It's the first time the important forum, an initiative of the Australia India Business Council and the Australia India Institute, has been held outside an Australian capital city.

Queensland Resources Council chief executive Ian Macfarlane, Australia's longest-serving energy minister, will join other speakers at the forum.

Mackay Regional Council deputy mayor Amanda Camm said the forum would be ideal for Mackay mining engineering and technology companies.

"The program is packed with speakers who can provide valuable insights to Mackay companies wanting to do business in India,” she said.

"For example, eight representatives from the Skill Council for Mining Sector in India will be attending and their CEO, Mr AK Bhandari, is a keynote speaker.”
