Adani bid to build 400-bed NQ workers camp

ADANI has forged ahead with its plan to build its 310km railway with the Indian energy giant applying for a permit to build a 400 bed workers camp.

The proposed workers camp will be built just outside of Collinsville near the local golf course.

Carmichael Rail Network Pty Ltd lodged the material change of use application for the Scottville Rd property to Whitsunday Regional Council this month.

Adani Australia chief executive officer Jeyakumar Janakaraj is a director of Carmichael Rail Network along with Adani Australia's chief operating officer Samir Vora.

The construction of the entire rail network from Abbot Point Coal Terminal to Carmichael Coal Mine is expected to create 2017 jobs.
