Anthony Horsford

FOR the past three years Anthony Horsford has driven trucks for Doug Ede's Hire based in Townsville.

Big Rigs saw Anthony in a not-so-big rig - a Mitsubishi Dyna 400 on September 27.

He was picking up chairs from the Salvation Army headquarters at Beck Rd in the Upper Ross area.

"I deliver and pick-up tents, chairs, and other goods which are hired out and sometimes get down to the Burdekin area," he said.

Anthony was fortunate enough to have two helpers with him - 23-year-old John Monks and 20-year-old William Burridge.

"We enjoy the work and the truck is really good for this," Anthony said.

At the venue there was a youth conference. Some of the participants saw the lads hard at work and said they would love to be truck drivers when they leave school.
