Russell Edgar

HAPPY truckie Russell Edgar works for Howard Heavy Haulage of Newcastle in NSW and drives a Kenworth 104 powered by a 600hp Cummins.

When Big Rigs saw the 53-year-old Russell on June 28 at the BP Cluden, he was busy working on the truck.

"I brought an earth moving scraper from Yatala to Darwin and have to pick up dump trucks bodies here at Townsville for Rockhampton," he said.

With Russell was his pilot driver Darcy Knight (pictured left), who was replacing a mud guard which had been ripped off the truck along the Flinders Highway between Hughenden and Julia Creek.

Outside of work, Russell enjoys riding motorbikes and said he stops at pubs along the highways for meals.

"I like to go to the Bororen Hotel north of Miriam Vale," he said.
