John Philp

AIRLIE Beach based John Philp drives an Isuzu 200 Medium Sitec Series for See Civil Constructions.

Big Rigs saw the 26-year-old John and the truck when they were working in Bowen.

John (in left of photo) was with his foreman, Mick Morto (right), and another worker, Adam Forbes.

"We are doing some pit digging here in Bowen and the Isuzu is nearly new and is the best truck," he said.

"It carries us and all of our gear."

Originally from Tweed Heads, John is part Aboriginal and part South Sea islander.

"It is a great place up north here and Airlie Beach is just beautiful," he said.

There is lots of maintenance and construction work going on in Bowen, which is between Mackay and Bowen and just off the Bruce Hwy.

John supports the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL and said his cousin Ryan James played for them.
