Butch Wilkinson

TULLY based owner/driver Butch Wilkinson drives a 2011 Kenworth for his company D&D Haulage carrying fertiliser in north Queensland.

The 43-year-old Butch well and truly qualifies to be in Truckin' in the Tropics, considering Tully is rated as Australia's wettest town.

At the entrance to the city which is 200km north of Townsville and 150km south of Cairns is a large golden gumboot which proudly signifies the wettest city title.

"This has been a good truck for me, even though I drive on some of the worst parts of the Bruce Highway up here," he said.

Butch said while the upgrade of the Cardwell Range section of the Bruce Highway had been slow, it would be worth it when completed.

When he gets down south, Butch likes to stop at the Tambo Roadhouse.
