Phil Nicholls

WE HAD a break in the weather the other day and headed north, and stopped at our usual haunt, the Mood Food 24-hour roadhouse at Kempton.

They are certainly in the middle of renovations there but it was business as usual and everything was running smoothly. And it was, as always, a great pleasure to catch up with our old mate Phil Nicholls from Burnie, when he rocked in driving an eyecatching 2012 Tolls T-609 in the new livery, with a Cummins up front and towing a B-double on the return leg to Toll Shipping at Burnie from Hobart.

Phil has been with them for four years now, and reckons it's a good job all round. He likes the new truck, and he enjoys the runs to Hobart every thirdweek, spending the other two weeks doing local, mainly Burnie to Simplot in Ulverstone. He also liked the cuppa and the friendly service at Mood Food, and, like a lot of people, he was glad to see some sunshine.
