Driver Profile: Peter Neale

WE dropped into Mood Food the 24 hour roadhouse/truckstop on the Midland Highway the other day to grab a bite to eat and a very good cappuccino on our way north to Devonport. And we were fortunate to catch up with Peter Neale from Launceston when he rolled in for a quick cuppa and a bite to eat driving a Kellara 2007 Mack Superliner with a 550 cat up front and towing a drop deck extendable trailer with some machinery on the back.

He had taken an oversized building down to Hobart and was on his way home to Launceston nursing an injured right hand. He tells us he had lost an argument with a chain twitcher earlier, but was soldiering on home to get it looked at.

Peter tells us he has now had 51 years driving trucks, and some of that time, on and off, for Kellara whom he describes as a top outfit, with a great boss to boot.

"Kenny Hughes just keeps on keeping us busy," he added, "And that's the way I like it."
