Gavin Saunders

IT WAS great to catch up with Gavin Saunders from Devonport the other day at Mood Food when he rolled in out of the rain into a sunny southern Tasmania and stopped for a bite to eat.

He was driving G&D Transport's 2007 K-104B with a 620 Cummins up front and towing a tri-axle tautliner from Devonport to Dover to load and would then return to Petuna at Devonport.

He has been there for two years and reckons it is a great job, working literally statewide.

This is when he appreciates the truck with its roomy sleeper, and also its 1100 litre tanks which give him quite a range.

He tells us that he often appreciates Mood Food being open 24 hours, one of the few such on the Midland Highway, offering great coffee, hot meals and a warm and friendly welcome, regardless of the hour.
