Geoff Penney

IT WAS good to catch up with Geoff Penney from Hobart the other day when he rolled in to Mood Food, the 24 hour Roadhouse and Truckstop on the midland Highway at Kempton.

Geoff was driving another SRT Logistics' R560 V-8 Scania Euro 5 and towing a refrigerated B-double at the time, and was on his way to the TRDC at Launceston and would then return to Hobart.

He tells us the driver who shares the truck on the day shift, Russell Buchanan, is at home nursing a broken leg, and we at Big Rigs would like to join Geoff and the entire crowd in wishing Russell a speedy recovery.

Geoff has now been with SRT for eight months and says it is "all good.

A really good outfit to work for, top and often brand new gear, and the afternoon shift suits my lifestyle!"

He was also rapt in the Scania, describing it, with its auto gearbox and all extras, as being more like a luxury car to drive than a truck.
