A HOLLYWOOD buzz has taken over Sunshine Plaza with the world premiere of locally filmed horror flick Charlie's Farm.

Tara Reid and co-stars made their red carpet entrance last night at Birch, Carroll and Coyle's Maroochydore cinemas to the screams and cheers of onlookers.

Fan Bridget Amiet has admired Tara Reid for more than a decade, and viewed her entrance through a smartphone as she videoed the event.

"She's really beautiful and talented," Ms Amiet said.

"I'm pretty excited about seeing the movie."

A Charlie impersonator in full costume, complete with gruesome facial scars, travelled from Melbourne to attend. Film industry representatives made a glamorous show of support for director and Coast filmmaker Chris Sun.

"He (Chris Sun) could go to LA any time he wants but he chose to stay here," freelance filmmaker Angel Christo said.

"It's great we're keeping the local industry alive."

For starry-eyed Mooloolaba girl Sienna Bishop, yesterday's highlight was seeing "all the beautiful dresses and shoes" of the celebrities and guests.
