Death toll from Indonesian volcano rises to 16

THE death toll from an Indonesian volcano that erupted on Saturday rose to 16, with more feared dead or missing.

After rumbling for months, Mount Sinaburg erupted on Saturday, with rescuers finding 14 dead initially, rising to 16 on Sunday.

Thousands have fled the area in the past week, with the volcano sporadically erupting for the past four months.
