DEAN Mason may not be standing behind the goals anymore but he is still providing plenty of inspiration for his talented futsal sons Brady and Reiley.

The Gowrie Junction twins hope to honour their father's dedication to their sporting pursuits by joining the Australian futsal squad in Barcelona in April.

Their family has been overwhelmed with support since Mr Mason died of a heart attack on October 21 last year, aged 40.

His wife Tracy said her 12-year-old sons were at home when he had the attack.

"They did their best," Mrs Mason said.

"The ambulance officer was proud of them."

She said her late husband was very proud of his sons' selection in the Australian squad which was announced shortly before his sudden death.

"He actually stood behind the goal post for every game of Reiley's," Mrs Mason said.

"We are pretty much devoting everything to getting there (Barcelona) now.

"The boys want to do it.

"Their dad is their motivation."

Mrs Mason said her husband's brother Rodney was organising a fundraiser dinner to help with the cost of sending the boys to Europe.

It will be held at the Oakey Cultural Centre on February 16 and a golf day will be held at the Jondaryan Golf Club on March 2.

"It is phenomenal.

"You are just breathtaken with the goodness of everyone."
