A year on from the 2011 Floods

The Brisbane floods in 2011 will be remembered as a one of the worst ever. However out of the tragedy and loss came the strongest sense of mateship and civic duty as strangers, friends and families came together to offer a hand, cleaning up the mess at peoples houses and businesses.

In the current edition of Big Rigs we have stories of some of the businesses from Brisbane's trucking hub, Rocklea, on how they are doing one year on.

From chatting to some of the businesses it's been a tough slog but they have dug deep, pulled together staff, suppliers and clients and surprisingly some have come out of it rejuvenated and strengthened.

Although this isn't the case for all the companies affected, it is refreshing to see what the human spirit can achieve in the face of adversity.

We hope you enjoy the images and the stories in your copy of Big Rigs available now along with the images on our online photo gallery. We would also like to invite you to send your photos through to us so we can put them online.
