$3000 bucks for getting your car serviced...yes please
WITH a suspected broken windscreen wiper pump, Curtis Island sparkie Choong Wong took his car into Future Ron Streeter Motors to get it fixed.
He was told he was going to need a new pump but when the problem ended up being a blockage which didn't cost him an arm and a leg, he decided to stick with Ron Streeter for all of his future services.
"It's about having respect for mechanics who are fair dinkum and honest," Mr Wong said.
Last month Mr Wong took his car in for a service and because he is a platinum member, he was in the running to take out the $3000 prize.
But when Mr Wong received a text message last week saying he had won a $3000 holiday voucher, he thought it was a scam.
"I've received a lot emails saying I've won a million dollars," he said. "I thought it was a joke but after they called me I was very happy."
Although he hasn't sat down to think about where he plans to go with the money yet, potential destinations on Mr Wong's list include Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand or all four of them.
"I'd like to see their lifestyle and culture and experience it while it's unspoilt," he said.
"At this point in this time I only got the news last week and haven't taken the time to check out where to go."
