The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) is advocating for the urgent re-opening of state and territory borders in the next steps to get the state and national economy on the best possible footing for a quick recovery from COVID-19.
Under the Queensland Chief Health Officer’s Directive, a new Qld Freight Movement Protocol will come into effect from 3pm today (Wednesday 23 September). The Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) has provided information on the updates for freight and logistics workers operating within the state.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has brought strict border closures that are being enforced across the nation, and it seems this has led to some people asking ludicrous requests from truckies, even going as far as asking to be sneaked across the border.
With the NSW border currently closed to Victoria to help curb the spread of COVID-19, NSW Health has made some welcome concessions for freight operators.
