Aiming to up-skill people working within the livestock transport industry in the Goondiwindi region, the Goondiwindi Regional Council will hold three one-day livestock handling courses from 22-24 August 2020.
Funded by the Queensland Government’s Regional Skills Investment Strategy, the courses will promote an increased understanding of how to safely and efficiently manage livestock, while also focusing on animal handling practices within the supply chain. They will also provide an understanding of cattle behaviour and handling techniques.
These livestock handling courses will be facilitated by Tom Shephard, who managed cattle stations across Australia for 20 years. He now works to educate people on how to work with livestock safely and efficiently.
The QTA has partnered with this project along with TLI Connect (TMR). Those wanting to take part in the course must be employed by, or operate a livestock business based within the Goondiwindi local government area. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion as record of their attendance.
Numbers are strictly limited. To secure a position in the course, please contact Sam Noon at the Goondiwindi Regional Council on 0428 819 932. For more information, please click here.
