The Museum of Australian Democracy is hosting Political Porcelain, featuring a selection of artworks by contemporary artist, Penny Byrne. Byrne utilises objects familiar from mantelpieces, china cabinets and toy boxes to transform vintage porcelain into powerful works of political commentary. Her artworks convey her concern, anger or amusement. They voice her views on social justice, the environment, war and politics. The work presented in Political Porcelain is "a compelling illustration of the artist as activist."
