FRANK Cabo no stranger to trucking

FRANK Cabo is no stranger to trucking.

He has notched up 34 years and in his hey day the first rig Frank steered was an International ACCO with a six-cylinder 290 horsepower Cummins engine with a nine- speed Road Ranger. Typical of a rig of that era, it rode on spring suspension, pulling a 38-foot bogie flat-top trailer doing the pensioner run from Melbourne to Adelaide, driving for his dad Joe Cabo. Frank now steers a Freightliner Argosy. and under the shed lays a Cummins 500 horsepower donk, and to get this pony along, an 18-speed auto shift does the trick.

The Argosy rides on air bag suspension towing a 48 flat-top freighter trailer. Frank said the truck "had it all" with good visuals through the windscreen and comfort. The new model is "classy".
