FRIENDLY truckie Michael Luck has been an owner/driver for seven years.
The 56-year-old Brisbane-based Michael drives a 2000 model Volvo FH16 and was in Townsville when Big Rigs yarned to him on October 8.
"I brought up a watermelon trailer from down south for Home Hill," he said.
Home Hill and nearby sister city Ayr are near the banks of the mighty Burdekin River and many small crop farms are in the region.
When he gets a few days off, Michael likes a cold Bundaberg Rum and also hopes to soon have a game of golf.
"I haven't played for a while and will try and do it soon," he said.
His favourite roadhouse is Uncle Leo's in NSW because the staff are friendly and the facilities clean.
Michael said the Volvo was generally a reliable truck which "did have its moments".
