Truckie dies in roll over, another escapes fiery truck

IN the past two days a truckie has died, while another has escaped his burning truck without injury.

One truckie was lucky to escape injury when his truck caught fire early this morning.

The driver has been travelling up the Hume Hwy in NSW about 500m from the Yass Service Centre about 2.40am when his load, a tile bonding agent caught on fire.

Police and NSW Fire and Rescue Officers attended and assisted the man.

 

Meanwhile yesterday a truckie died after his truck rolled on the Landsborough Hwy in Qld.

The crash occurred about 4.50pm, some 80kms north of Winton.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
