Phil Waters

ON A BEAUTIFUL spring day in Tasmania, we were happy to catch up with Phil Waters when he rolled in to the Caltex Roadhouse and Truckstop to grab a bite to eat.

He was driving a Forth Valley Haulage 2003 Iveco Power Star with a 550 Detroit up front and towing a stock crate from Carrick to Ross to load sheep for Mount Joy.

Phil tells us he has been with the outfit for 10 years now and says it's a great job, running all over the place with plenty of variety, though he prefers always carry livestock, most of which go to the mainland for the Australian Lamb Company.

Phil says he has spent his life on the road, and still reckons it's a good and rewarding job and profession.

We asked him what he does with his time off.

"Well not a lot, but I do like to get out fishing once in a while and I enjoy diving," he said.
