THIS year's Lights on the Hill memorial service in Gatton (Queensland) will see the patrons using the newly upgraded wall for the first time.
Committee president Kerry Wilkins said the memorial wall now had wheelchair access and lighting and the committee was gearing up for the Memorial Day on October 11.
The sad part, he said, was they added more wall space so 50 more names could fit this year. There are another two to three stages to go to expand the wall to fit more names every year.
"We're a year ahead of schedule thanks to extra funds raised," Mr Wilkins said.
The money raised from last year's LOTH convoy also saw some $30,000 donated to South East Queensland Rescue, Careflight, Endeavour Foundation, Royal Flying Doctors and Gatton sporting clubs.
This year's service starts at 2pm on October 11 at Lake Apex in Gatton.
There will be a sausage sizzle from noon and dinner will be held after the event, at 6pm at the Gatton Council Hall, North St in Gatton.
Tickets are $45 for adults, live entertainment by Terry Clark and Kerry Kennedy with special guest artist Jeff Brown. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
