SCANIA has a new web and mobile-based app that gives drivers and fleet managers a detailed insight into the performance of their assets.
The new app is available for customers purchasing Scania's Control package, which provides detailed fleet management data.
It further enhances the transparency of fleet operation, both to the operator and the driver.
A critical part of the app is the way it subtly encourages drivers to focus on their star ratings and scoring, which in tern delivers better operational outcomes.
The Scania OnBoard Control package is available in 3 levels, providing fleet running data every 10 minutes, every five minutes or every one minute, for almost real time management ability.
The App provides the ability to manage the fleet and offers two-way communication between individual vehicles and the fleet management team, wherever the vehicle is located in Australia.
Users need only log in to the Scania Fleet Management Portal to access a wide array of useful functions.
The Scania Messaging functionality allows operators to communicate with other users directly using the Fleet Management App.
Operators can have text conversations with individual users or with groups of users, and can send images as well.
This allows a driver to send a photo, for example, of damaged goods directly to the transport planner in their company. It is also possible to send position indicators that drivers can use to find a specific location.
Communication can be between app users and between app and portal users and all messages in the app are synced with messages on the portal for transparency across platforms.
All users can create defect reports for vehicles and other equipment directly in the Fleet Management App. So you can use your phone to take pictures of faults and use the app to send these with the fault report.
The pictures can then be included in the supporting data sent to the workshop from the Scania Fleet Management Portal.
Drivers using the Fleet Management App have direct access to their trip data, to monitor their own performance at any time.
Scania Fleet Management Portal users may also use the app to see the position of the vehicles on a map, current data from the vehicles and detailed data on drivers' driving times and activities. The app can be used to contact drivers directly via SMS or phone.
