DECA has teamed up with TWUSuper to promote the message of safer driving in the transport industry and broader community.
DECA's CEO Amanda McKenzie recently revealed at their Altona North facility, two co-branded training trucks including a B-double emblazed with the safety message, "DECA & TWUSuper support safe driving".
"This is an important move for both TWUSUPER and DECA, as it emphasises the importance of safety and longevity in the transport industry. DECA contributes to this by providing training at entry level right through to advanced safety and fuel efficiency," Amanda said.
Vehicle accidents not only directly impact the families of those involved, but the community as a whole.
TWUSuper CEO, Bill McMillin said that safety and accident prevention are integral to the transport industry, but it's also important to consider financial security including protecting families from financial hardship.
"From a financial perspective, vehicle accidents directly impact our members who are involved. Thankfully most drivers have insurance cover under their TWUSuper membership. Even though we have recently increased our cover, it's important for everyone to regularly assess their insurance level," added Bill.
Amanda McKenzie said the number of new people coming into the industry for training, highlighted the need to demonstrate some of the benefits of the industry.
"Our relationship with TWUSuper , shows the way people in the transport industry can work together to promote a positive message".
