PAUL Quillan
PAUL Quillan has been a steering wheel attendant since 1986.
The truck of the day was a Leyland rigid and this beast was a petrol motor.
Paul was carting water around Blacktown in the outer 'burbs of Sydney. These days Paul cracks the whip in a Scania 580. The 2006 model unit has the 13-speed gear box, and rides on air bag suspension pulling a 48- foot Maxicube van. Paul does the show freight, carting all the essential gear for Sade, a Yankee singer who is touring Australia.
Now down to the Scania, Paul said it was a "sh** hot" truck (mind his French), that's comfortable and has plenty of power.
Paul drives for Display for Road, which is based in Lane Cove, New South Wales.
Down to being on the road ... Paul loves it.
What better way to see the countryside and get paid for it, oh and the concert gigs are the best!
