MAN to draw crowds
MAN Automotive Imports is sure to draw in crowds at the 2012 ITTES, with eight vehicles on display, including an eye-catching TGX 26.540 6x4 prime mover with an XLX cab and custom paintwork.
The TGX 26.540 prime mover features a MAN D26 12.4L 540hp engine that puts out 2500Nm of torque, along with a 12-speed automated transmission.
It's not just the paintwork that makes this truck a standout. This vehicle, along with a TGX 26.480 6x4 prime mover with an XL Cab, will feature an increased fuel and AdBlue capacity. This will be the first time MAN makes a public display of vehicles with this feature.
The TGX 26.480 6x4 is a premium sleeper cab prime mover. It also features a 12-speed automated transmission and a 12.4L 540hp engine, putting out 2300Nm of torque. It is complete with an 1140L fuel tank and a 100L AdBlue tank.
Along with these impressive prime movers, MAN will display a series of rigid trucks.
A 42 tonne rated TGS 41.480 8x8 rigid with M Cab and a 41 tonne rated TGS 35.480 8x4 off-road rigid with M Cab are the most powerful rigids showcased by the company. Each is fitted with a 480hp MAN D26 12.4L engine.
Featuring a 12-speed automated transmission with an off-road program and all-wheel-drive, the TGS 41.480 8x8 is a popular choice for drill rig and exploration companies around Australia. The TGS 35.480 8x4 model is a great alternative when extreme mobility is not required.
Two TGM models will also be displayed - a TGM 18.340 4x4 rigid with a crew cab and a TGM 23.290 6x2 rigid with an L cab. The TGM 23.290 6x2 rigid features a low height, 23 tonne rated chassis, while the TGM 18.340 4x4 is an 18 tonne rated all-wheel drive. The 4x4 model being displayed is fitted with a custom made Manhaul body for Rio Tinto.
Also on show will be a HX77 high mobility military truck, featuring an impressive 36 tonne rated military spec tactical off-road chassis with an armoured cab.
