A SHOW of more than 200 trucks on the weekend just goes to show that the Brisbane Convoy for Kids has the support of the people.
Trucks drove from Heathwood to the Redcliffe Showgrounds with kids in cabs honking horns and waving excitedly at crowds of people lining the streets where they could.
Once at the showgrounds the trucks joined hundreds of people supporting the convoy and the charities it raises money for.
Two weeks before the convoy was due to depart organisers pulled the pin as permit restrictions were too tight, but after numerous complaints, Transurban helped the convoy kick off on November 7 at a 9.30am timeslot.
They also sponsored rides at the family fun day, much to the delight of the many kids at the event.
John Moran, convoy patron and co-founder also known as the Ferret as at the family fun day and said he complained to two ministers about the convoy being cancelled and miraculously with in hours it was back on.
