Fatal crash, Mount Lindsay Highway

Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on the Mount Lindsay Highway near Veresdale.

Initial information suggests that two vehicles collided at about 7.30am and the drivers of both vehicles were entrapped. One driver died at the scene and a man in the other vehicle has sustained serious injuries and is being transported to hospital.

The highway is closed in both direction between Veresdale and Gleneagle with diversions in place for cars. Heavy vehicles are unable to pass at this time and the highway is expected to remain closed for next couple of hours.

No further information is available.

Police investigations are continuing.
